July 17 - 22 Fresh from an acclaimed Broadway run, the beloved
masterpiece Les Misérables is hitting Calgary. The epic tale of Jean
Valjean, in one of the longest running musicals of all time, explores
themes of courage, redemption, revolution and the survival of the
human spirit with a classic score that includes songs such as “I
Dreamed a Dream,” “Stars,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” and
many more (page 38).

AUGUST 9 - 11 If you’ve ever wanted to
gaze at the stars through a high-powered
astronomical telescope, this is your chance.
The Rothney Astrophysical Observatory
(RAO) is opening their doors for Milky
Way Nights to give the public a unique
opportunity to see deep sky objects such
as planetary nebula and globular clusters.
Astronomers will be on hand to assist and
answer questions. The late night observing
takes place between 10 pm and 2 am,
and admission is a donation to the RAO
(page 38).
