Where ART Lives Magazine Volume 4 Number 3 | Page 50

Kerryann Torres How often do you paint? How many hours a week? I paint for at least four to six hours five to six days a week. It is now an essential part of my life, like eating and exercising. How would you like to be remembered? As being kind and happy. How do you know when a painting is finished? This is tough, because, there is always something you think you could tweak, but if I look at the painting and I feel happiness, then I know it is done. Do you have a favorite painting that you have collected by another artist? My brother, Marc Sheridan, is an amazing photographer. He did a whole series of Koi fish. We blew one up to 50x40 and it now is on our fireplace. I love just staring at it. It is so beautiful and inspirational. It was the first large piece of art we collected. What is the most inspirational place you have visited to date? For me, Hawaii has not only amazing landscapes and people, but the light is so beautiful. There is no need for a filter, it literally is so soft and dreamy naturally. We had an unbelievably close encounter with a humpback whale off the coast of Maui that was so special. Where would you take your dream vacation? I would love to go back to Africa, but in particular, the giraffe manor in Kenya. What brings you the most joy in your life? My husband, family, fur-babies and painting. If you could talk about art with a deceased master artist, who would it be? Gustav Klimt for sure. I adore his patterns, subjects and who doesn’t love a little bling? Tell us something that few people know about you. I was blessed by the Pope Paul VI when I was little; I think I am dating myself here. Any other thoughts to share? Just how important it is to stay true to yourself and follow your passions. It is scary, but people who do what they love, have joy and that is contagious. kerryanntorres.com 50
