Annie O' Brien Gonzales Do you have a favorite color palette? Well, I have had a total pink/red obsession for several years--it just makes me happy. But recently, the blue/green colors have been edging in. Lately, I’ve enjoyed using analogous colors and finding different mixtures. What subject appears the most in your paintings and why? Flowers! Because I am in love with flowers and plants. An indelible memory in my mind is of a garden across the street from where I lived as a kid where the background was truly a secret garden--peonies, roses, butterflies, large moths in the evening--that’s my vision of paradise. How often do you paint? How many hours a week? When I am not traveling to do workshops or visiting family I am in my studio on Canyon Road every day. Because I worked for so many years I am used to a 9-5 workday so that’s my pattern as a painter only the day zooms by because I love it so much. How would you like to be remembered? As someone whose life and work brought joy. What are you most proud of in your life? My family including my incredible husband and my kids and grandkids and all the amazing extended cousins, nieces, nephews--it is an accomplished and loving bunch! What book are you reading this week? I am on book eight of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon which is named “Written in my own Heart’s Blood.” I listen to novels on Au X
