REFLECTIONS FROM FALL FORUM By Zoe Altizer Photographs by Kate Casey IN THE SPOTLIGHT Zoe is a junior who is also a first time JCL-er. We sat down and she answered some of our questions. How did you get involved with JCL? I started JCL when I joined Latin Club and Latin Honor Society in high school. Considering that I have been taking Latin classes since third grade along with my love for the language, it only seemed natural to get involved in high school. What was the most memorable part for you of your first JCL event? The most memorable part was seeing the sheer passion of those who were all involved in the event, from the planners to participants. There was a true, unabashed love for classic culture and language, and it completely blew me away. I think it struck me so much because everyone was giving it their 200 % , wholeheartedly and avidly participating. Do you have any future plans for the classics? What are your goals? I sincerely hope to keep on taking Latin as I move in to my college career! Latin to me is a tether to the history that shapes us, and it ' d be an unfortunate loss to let that tether go.
