I think there is probably one word that
could describe my experience at
Nationals in Oxford, OH: euphoria.
From watching Eric Yao and former
historian Lucy Ku maneuver a rock in a
baby cart to staying up all night
talking and eating spicy Ramen with
fellow state board members Emma
Mason and Vivi Lu, my second National
Convention was leaps and bounds
better than any other week I
experienced away from home. What is
always so fantastic about Nationals is
that there is something for everyone:
there ’ s Certamen for the most ardent
academics, Olympika for the athletes,
nightly dances for the partyers,
workshops for those who want to build
their JCLs and learn a little culture
along the way, and more. There ’ s not
many occasions that could match up to
my experience in Oxford, eating lunch
with my favorite seniors for the last
time before they leave for college,
leading chapter caucuses of one of the
most charismatic states in the NJCL,
screaming my lungs out in the name of
spirit with the rest of the state to earn
a top place in spirit ( because in the

of one of the best weeks of my life is
rather short, I encourage any JCLer to
go to National Convention at least
once ; it will make some lifelong
memories that will be worth keeping.
