CAREER, TECHNICAL, AND AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION( CTAE)
The CTAE department ' s mission is to prepare Wheeler students for a variety of careers and educational paths. CTAE offers a variety of career pathways, each with three or four specialized courses. Students can choose a career pathway that matches their interests and goals. Students will be exposed to learning through: College and career readiness: Students should become ready for college, technical training, two- and four-year degrees, and post-baccalaureate programs. Workforce preparation: Students should develop employability skills and prepare them to enter the workforce. Real-world learning: Students should apply academic theories and principles with hands-on learning experiences. Career exploration: Students should use career assessments to explore career opportunities that match their skill set. The Georgia Department of Education has structured the state’ s current Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education( CTAE) program into 17 Career Cluster Pathways that are modeled after the National Career Clusters configuration utilized by most of the United States. The 17 Career Cluster / Pathways contains both secondary and postsecondary education and will strengthen and improve student transition from secondary to postsecondary education.
