When a loved one survives a spinal cord and/or brain injury, caregivers are left with the weight of providing practical care, while also grappling with the loss of their own dreams of what life would have been like without the demands of caregiving. In this presentation, we will revisit the popular understanding of the grief process, sort out what science says about the grief process, and help participants adaptively apply it as they move within this process.
