Don’t Be A Victim- Self Defense for Wheelchair Users
October 13th, 2018
Join us in the annual "Let's Play Ball!", adaptive baseball for everyone! Family friendly, accessible, and everyone is welcome. We will need a minimum of 9 to 10 players for each team with additional back up to rotate in as necessary. We have the entire field for this activity. All equipment will be provided, including helmets, baseballs, gloves, and plastic bats. FREE to survivors, immediate family and caregivers. The City of Phoenix, the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association and Ability 360 Sports and Fitness Center present a special edition of this self-defense class! Instructor, Jui Chiu, will show users how to get out of a choke hold, the importance of being aware of your surroundings, and how to use your wheelchair as a self-defense mechanism in an attack. Class is exclusively for people who regularly use wheelchairs for mobility.
