I have worked with wheelchair athletes from around the world on fitness, nutrition, mental toughness, confidence, focus, and more. I created Arizona Wheelchair Tennis as a resource for players everywhere. I have volunteered at numerous tennis tournaments, and I host a tournament every year in AZ. I am currently trying to finish a B.A. in Kinesiology & Exercise science with a focus on sports medicine and therapy. I plan to work on developing Recreational therapy programs in areas that are too poor or distant to currently have those options. I am also working hard to join the USTA National Coaching staff and continue to learn about wheelchair sports.

As a tennis coach, I have worked with players from all over the world. My most memorable moments are all in wheelchair tennis...my most memorable students, are wheelchair students. I have developed more friendships than I ever did teaching running tennis. I enjoy every a-ha moment that my students have. More than anything, I am content knowing that I can help an individual improve their quality of life and expand their social circles. I love the opportunity to coach athletes to victory, but ultimately it is the journey to get there t hay is most enriching and enlightening. The destination is just icing on the cake.

What I've learned from working within the disability community is how to adapt. I have learned that no two individuals, with the "same" injury or disability can have vastly different abilities depending on a multitude of factors. I have learned the value of good equipment, and to see the talents in people that may have lost the self-esteem needed to try something new. I enjoy most the appreciation and gratitude that my students and friends express to me and to others. I like to volunteer with various programs, but at the end of the day. I am supporting people. Individuals that just happen to enjoy sport, I am helping them remember how to enjoy life, and at the same time, reminding myself too.
