Message from the Executive Director,
Welcome to the February edition of Wheel World News. With Valentine's Day coming up this month, love is in the air! Show some love to the SCI community and join us in the upcoming events going on this February.
Our 3rd Annual Push Forward Educational Conference is just around the corner. To read more about the upcoming conference, please read pages 2-3. You won't want to miss out on this all day interactive conference. There are many exciting events going on within the disability community this month. Ranging from Rugby Rave to Adaptive Yoga, there are many ways to get involved and active in the community. To see all the current events happening this month, read pages 4-6. The Spring 2018 Series of "Living Healthy with SCI" continues this month with, “Artsy Smartsy” presented by Tina Marie Ferguson. This will be a special class where participants will be able to create unique lamps. To read more about this class, please visit pages 8-9.
This month for our "Consumer Corner" segment, we are highlighting Dean Joyce. Be sure to check out pages 10-13 to read his personal story. We have a new section in our newsletter, "Professional Profile", where we will be highlighting a different professional that works within the SCI community. Chip Stoecker is our professional for February. Be sure to read how he contributes to the community on pages 14-16.
