September 7th, 2017: "The Management and Prevention of Secondary Conditions of SCI"
Presented by: Sonya Perduta-Fulginiti RN, MS, CRRN
Class Summary: SCI is a condition which affects multiple body systems and their overall functions. The ability to move body parts, to feel bodily sensations, to breathe, to control the diameter of blood vessels and to empty the bowel and bladder can be affected either totally or partially. Secondary conditions of SCI are those that develop as a result of the loss of or minimal functioning of these body systems. This lecture/discussion will provide a description of these secondary conditions, how to prevent them when possible, and how to manage them when present.
