Max in Motion Youth Adaptive Sport Clinics

July-December 2017

Once a year, the MaxInMotion® organization supports the Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center as we host youth adaptive sport clinics for six months. These sports clinics introduce children 18 years and under with physical disabilities to power soccer, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair lacrosse and our newest sport hockey.

At the clinics, which will be taught by current adaptive sports competitors, two different sport clinics will run on one Saturday a month. Young athletes will learn skills in the individual sports and try out specialty wheelchairs and equipment used in competition. Lunch will be served at every clinic.

During the clinics, the Max in Motion participants and their family members will build friendships as they share the liberation of sport participation. The clinics are intended to present youth with sports opportunities and to engage in ongoing physical activity.

The MaxInMotion® foundation was established in 2011 to honor a very special and promising young athlete, Max Shacknai, who lost his life tragically earlier that year. Max embodied all of the characteristics sought in young athletes and had a great passion for all sports and team participation.

Along with Max in Motion, we invite youth and their family members to join us!
