Message from the Executive Director,
Welcome to the January edition of Wheel World News. It's hard to believe that 2017 is upon us! A new year always brings about the opportunity to reflect on the past and to look forward to the future. We have many things to look forward to in 2017 at AZSCIA.
We are kicking off our new adaptive fishing club, Wheelin N’ Reelin’ at Tempe Town Lake on January 28th. Whether you are new to fishing or an expert, we would love to have you join us. Read more about this event on page 2. Our Living Healthy with SCI continues this month with our class, “Eating to Thrive Not Just Survive” with Steve Norton. Check out the details on pages 8-9. We have a new section in our newsletter, Consumer Corner, where we will be highlighting a different consumer each month. Sharon Malone is our consumer for January and she shares her story on pages 14-15. This newsletter is packed full of great information, we hope you enjoy reading it.
I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year from my family to yours. We would like to thank everyone who supported us in 2016 and look forward to building a stronger community in 2017.
