alumni association wheaton college alumni association Board of Directors in Action Meet your new Board members: LTC Howard Curlin ’95 received Daniel Doebler ’94, M.A. ’00 his medical degree from Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University and currently serves as a physician in the U.S. Army. He recently moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he serves as the chief of minimally invasive surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and associate program director for the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Howard and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of Phin (11), Lars (9), Katie Anne (7), Field (4), Jude (2), and JR (born in 2014). is a behavioral health case therapist and a member of the Ethics Committee at Cadence Health/ Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Dan teaches workshops on various topics related to behavioral health and previously had worked as a crisis intervention coordinator at Wheaton Youth Outreach. He is a member of Faith Evangelical Covenant Church in Wheaton. Dan and his wife, Betsey, have two children: Josiah (9) and Charis (6). Accepting board nominations for 2014-2015 34    W I N T ER   2015 David Doig ’87 is president of Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, a not-for-profit community development corporation. He received his master’s degree from the University of Chicago and has worked in the city as its first deputy planning commissioner and as CEO of the Chicago Park District. He’s a Fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago, a Board member of Lawndale Christian Health Center, and a Board member of Historic Pullman Foundation. David is a member of Lawndale Community Church. He and his wife, Tami Brooks ’86 have two children: Olivia ’14, and Clarke ’17. The Alumni Association Board of Directors consists of 18 alumni representing every decade back through the 1960s. Directors are selected by the existing Board through a formal nomination process.
