First Canine Blood Donor Day held at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital
On Saturday, January 18 the Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital
Blood Bank hosted the first Donor Day. Regina Andrews,
Blood Bank Coordinator, along with other staff members
held an informational meeting for anyone interested in
having their dog become a blood donor. Attendees
learned more about how a canine blood donation is done,
the benefits of participating and the importance of having
blood products available for our patients. They also took a
tour of the hospital and met with Izzy, Diamond and
Giselle, three of our current donors.
We are happy to welcome four new donors into our program. Samantha, Cash Money, Sunshine and Remi were
successfully screened and will start their donations soon.
Thank you for helping to provide a life saving resource for
our patients!
