Accelerated removals
Since July 1 over 6500 wild horses and burros have been removed. This rapid acceleration is tied directly to the "Ten Years to AML" corporate lobby agenda that entered into agreements with livestock back in 2015. Giving up the fight against arbitrary and unscientific "AML," or stocking levels, of wild horses in exchange for some language to utilize fertility control and increase funding for holding facilities and the potential for long term subsidies, this "deal" is a betrayal.

We expect this acceleration to continue into the winter.
This deal begins by getting populations down to a politically set stocking level, the same number Congress found "fast disappearing" that spurred the 1971 Act to protect wild horses and burros. Only after "AML" is reached will BLM utilize fertility control.
