Opinion: Ice Skating Field Trip

By: Julia Pecharroman

“Everyone goes bananas if they have the occasion to complain.”

On December 21st, some 1 ESO students went ice skating on a school trip. Although everyone was initially excited, final opinions were not really positive. Around 60 students went to skate at the ice rink next to the town hall. They were divided into two groups to skate for half a hour. Although it was generally fun, some students had frustrations, saying things like "it was too small and too slippery" or "the skates were really bad" or "the rink was too small, the price excessive, and it was not even real ice."

What was wrong? Maybe they had expected too much. The ice rink could have been better, but it could have also been even worse. There could have been no ice skating rink at all!

The ice rink was small because this ice skating project wasn’t paid for by the town hall. The skating rink was sponsored by the “Club de Patinaje de Tres Cantos," which does not have as much money as the town hall. Considering this, it wasn’t that bad.
