Q: What influences you? There are three things; firstly, RESULTS: the burning desire to achieve and get good sustainable results; Passion of ensuring everything we do helps to strengthen the company drives me. Secondly, DOING IT THE RIGHT WAY: Just achieving results is easy, however, getting these results the right way always brings challenges. Being driven by the right way of doing things helps sustainability and guaranteed success. And thirdly, PEOPLE: Our people are our greatest assets. Relentless focus on people in regards to capability, competence, work life balance and feeling proud of being an Etikan is and will remain my core focus. I am proud of our team and want to ensure that we come out stronger, better, sharper and most importantly happier. We are a family and a happy family. Q: Who are the other CEOs that you look up to? I have worked with many great leaders. There are many CEOs who may not be that visible but are in fact very effective leaders. I still look up to these great people that I have had the privilege to work with. I am proud of Etika and the leadership our previous CEO gave to Etika. Something for me to build on from here. Q: What is that one word that best describes you? I don’t have that one word but if I had to make a choice it would definitely be something about influence. I am driven by creating and influence and being influenced in every part of my life. Learning never stops. I have a burning need to continue to learn and learn from everyone and feel more educated every day. The day we stop to learn, we start to rust and deteriorate. Q: Trends that you're loving in Etika? The people! Definitely the people! I’m loving the family as well as the Etikan culture which I hope to further strengthen. I’m proud of Etika and proud of being part of this company. Q: Favourite place to travel around in Malaysia? I love beaches and islands. My favourites in this country are Tioman, Langkawi, Penang and also this particular resort in Tanjung Aru. Q: What's excites you about 2019? My second son is going to the university in Canada. He will be joining his elder brother who is already there. My household is getting smaller but I am excited about him starting an exciting and new chapter in his life. On the business side, my hope is for a stronger performance driven by a team that is stronger and happier.
