Encourage to cough. UNCONSCIOUS Look inside mouth Start CPR 5 x Back Slap 5 x Abdominal Slap ***Not for pregnant women Encourage COUGH. Continue to check for ineffective cough or relief of obstruction. If the victim becomes UNCONSCIOUS: 1. Support victim carefully to the ground; 2. Immediately call 999 for an ambulance; 3. Begin CPR (if the victim is not breathing normally). If you haven’t received cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, doctors recommend performing only chest compressions (about 100 to 120 compressions a minute). The dispatcher can instruct you in the proper procedures until help arrives.
