Music SWEDEN Agnes Carlsson By Georgia Agnes Carlsson is a Swedish artist who was born 6th of Mars in 1988. She became famous through her victory in the Swedish version of Idol in 2005. You maybe recognize her famous song “Right here Right now”, which was her first most famous song. Agnes was only seventeen when she participated in Idol 2005. And she was only eighteen when she released her first album called Agnes. During 2009 her international career started with the single “Release Me” which has sold over 900 000 examples in the hole world. During the years 2006-2008 she became very popular in Sweden and she released many pop songs that were played at the Swedish Top list. During the spring in 2009 her big single “Release Me” was discovered abroad. It was first released in Denmark and sold over 25 000 examples. The single had huge successes in the UK. During some weeks the single was at 3rd place at the top list and sold near 400 000 examples. It did also great success in France, Germany, Italy and Belgium. Her second international single “On and On” was also released in a lot of countries in Europe. She became also famous in the US with her single “Release Me”. They base the group several years ago but their big breakthrough came in 2010 when they released their first single “One”, featuring Pharell Williams. The single reached big success in both Europe and the UK and was placed as number three on the Billboards hot dance club songs and as number one on the Nederlandse top 40. Even their second single Miami 2 Ibiza, with the British rapper Tinie Tempah was a huge hit and was on the Billboard hot dance music songs as number one. In 2011the popular group released two more singles; “Save the world” featuring John Martin and “Antidote” featuring the English electro house/dub step-duo Knife Party. “Save the world” won also nominated to a Grammy. In 2012 Swedish House Mafia did cooperate together with Absolute Vodka, and made the famous hit song “Greyhound”. As well as they have cooperated with Absolute Vodka, they have also cooperated with the famous artist Usher, which result in the two songs “Numb” and “Euphoria”. During 2012 they also released their last song together “Don ´t you worry child” featuring John Martin. The song got great success and is probably their most famous; it was also nominated for a Grammy. Al in al has the trio reached huge success around the world, and has even been called “the faces of mainstream progressive house music.” On the 24th of June, 2012, the group announced via their website, the for many fans, said news that their adjacent tour would be their last together. “Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved”. On March 24, 2013 they did their final appearance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, which come to be one of the biggest manifestations for dance music through all time, with 330000 visitors in two weekends.
