MOORISH HALL- is Charles Lecompte du Nouy’s creation and it has a marble fountain, a copy after the one in Cairo. THE THEATRE- it has 60 places and a royal box. THE ROYAL APARTMENT- it was arranged in 1906 during the visit of Franz Josef (the king of Austro-Hungary). The most important halls to visit are: THE HALL OF HONOR- it is huge, with paneled walnut, lined with bas-reliefs and statues. The mobile glass ceiling turned on by an electric motor was a surprise for the King’s visitors, who could admire the sky on a summer night. It was finished in 1911. THE ROYAL LIBRARY- it is an attraction especially for people who love rare books; but there is also another attraction: a secret door behind a book-shelf, where the King used to ‘’escape’’ to other rooms of the castle. THE ARMOURY- arranged between 1903 and 1906, it shelters over 4,000 European and oriental arms. THE MUSIC HALL- it has become a hall for hosting musical evenings. The furniture was brought by Kapurtala Maharaja. Peles Castle is a work of art that impresses its visitors owing to its rich decorations and warm atmosphere, which gives you the feeling that it is still inhabited. It is a place where you would expect to hear laughter and music from the ballroom, where you could always be invited for a cup of tea!
