Swan Hill
Murray Cod, Paddle
steamers and Futsal
Swan Hill is a beautiful
town, with gorgeous parks,
great shopping and a
smattering of history. A lot
of that history is based on
the Murray River and the
Paddle Steamers.
If you have ever wanted to
see a huge Murray Cod, this
is the place. There is an 11m
Murray Cod, which was left
over from a movie, and Terry
Rogers decided on a closer
inspection. Burke and Wills

planted a Moreton Bay Fig
tree in Swan Hill in 1860.
If you know anything about
Moreton Bay Fig trees, you
will know why it is said to be
the biggest in Australia.
Check out P.S. Pyap, which
was restored in 1896. She
was built to be a floating
General Store, and now
delivers a one-hour cruise
along the Murray.
Angie Hilton and Terry
Rogers give us an
overview of Swan Hill.
