Safety 101
Welcome back to the Buzz Robotics newsletter! Buzz is proud to start its
24th year with a message from our safety captains:
As safety captains, our job is to make sure the members of
teams exercise proper safety techniques. Such as wearing safety glass-
es, using the machines properly and making sure people use proper
behavior at our meetings and at competitions. One of the additions we
will be doing to our safety captain responsibilities is we will be doing
routine safety checkups on the team and on the robot to make sure
everything is safe.
As an extra precaution to keep everyone safe we have first aid kits
located in all the rooms we have at the Enfield Annex that people work
in. We also take first aid kits to competitions in case someone gets in-
jured and we also take a fire extinguisher with us to the competitions
in case of a fire. We also take spare safety glasses for anybody who for-
gets their pair or a parent needs a pair to go into the pits. Also, just a
reminder, if you're ever in the shop wear your safety glasses at all
times, if you have long hair tie or loose clothing take it off. If you are
wearing a long sleeve t shirt or a sweat shirt, pull up the sleeves and
tuck the strings into your coat.
Also congratulations to Ashley for becoming the new freshman
safety captain.
