Rock This Country Blue Music Festival !

The team at Kangaventure are excited to be bringing the second Rock this Country Blue Music Festival to The Kuranda Billabong on Saturday the 15th of October 2016 . Nestled amongst pristine tropical rainforest with an outlook to eucalypt woodlands , The Billabong is a spectacular events venue specialising in tailor made , unique experiences . The RTCB Festival team has assembled a fine day of what they think is a great cross section of artists drawn from the three music genres of Rock , Country and Blues . So why don ’ t you and your friends come on up to the Billabong , set up a camp and kick back and enjoy this fine assembly of musicians . You won ’ t be disappointed ! Camping is free so why not stay the night ? Described as one of Australia ’ s leading solo blues guitarists in Chris Johnson ’ s latest book “ Guitar – The Australian Story ”, Hole is a wild man on lapsteel guitar , Resonator guitar , and electric guitar , all amped up to sound big and fat , with the band ’ s extra thumpy beat . Loud 70s rock / blues and a touch of hillbilly picking – birthed when live music was the real deal . A taste of Neil Young , Jimi Hendrix , and Tom Waits joins the muscled man ’ s songbook along with some fine intricate picking originals . Blue Tonic – Blue Tonic is a band of seasoned performers from Cairns , North Queensland . Covering Country , Rock , Folk and Blues styles Blue Tonic will provide you with an easy listening , toe tapping dance music style of experience . Having both male and female vocalists adds a dimension of sweet harmonies . Instrumentation is varied as appropriate for each song and may include : Guitars , Bass , Drums , Harmonica and Guitar Mandolin . Blue Tonic ’ s broad repertoire includes a range of songs from Australian and International artists covering music from the 80s , 90s and beyond to contemporary music of the day . Multiple songwriters in the band provide further extension with “ home grown ” flavours giving Blue Tonic even broader diversity .
