The Carinda Christie Trio consists of Jason Donnelly on guitar and vocals, and Mark Trimbolli on drums. Cruel sees Christie reunite with some of the most profound influences of her musical life—drummer Ben Hakalitz (Not Drowning Waving, Yothu Yindi) and Giles Smith on bass, guitar and co-production (Dragon, Eagle, John Williamson)—to bring a big band sound to the album. “I got sick of the whole band and covers thing, I wanted to do originals. We worked as a trio, so there is definitely a bigger band sound on this album – we let go a bit and let it take its own shape,” explains Christie. As a live performer, Carinda Christie puts 110 per cent into her shows – so you won't be disappointed. Her sweet and powerful rock-pop- folk style and talent finds her right at home on all stages from festivals and pubs to intimate settings. Carinda has toured extensively over the years to many festivals and has also supported high-profile artists such as Wendy Matthews and Grace Knight, Billy Thorpe, Tina Cousins, Pseudo Echo, Christine Anu and many more. But she still calls the Tablelands home. She has released six albums and has some tracks on iTunes as well as Spotify. 6 What’s On & Where To Go September 2018
