Malanda Falls Duck Race
The Lions Club of Malanda are holding a family picnic and fun day featuring a Rubber Duck Race with 2,000 rubber ducks racing over the Malanda Falls on Sun 6 November from 11am . The race begins after 1.30pm and first 20 ducks over the finish line in both categories will receive cash prizes with major and minor prizes awarded .

Herberton NYE Street Party !
Welcome 2017 with a great family night out at Herberton New Year ’ s Eve Street Party . Setting the theme is live 50s , 60s & 70s music by band Old Skool ( pictured ). Dance music also by JD the DJ . The night will be packed with activities including face painting , hat making and lots of family games . Food stalls available as well as local outlets offering yummy meals and treats . There will be a best dressed business competition and best fancy dress costume . Come and celebrate the 5th year of Herberton ’ s NYE Street Party . Due to popular demand , the Small Farms Field Day will be held again on Saturday , November 12 at Malanda Showground ’ s from 8am to 4pm .
ONLY $ 2 donation at the gate ( under 15 free ).
The Small Farms field day is about everything country ; tractors , produce , irrigation , farm equipment and animals . An opportunity for people to catch up and find out how to grow things better on their block or small farm .
So much to see and do as 2016 proves to be the biggest year yet ... Including a future agro challenge , celebrity goat milking competition , home made loaf bread , jams and even cheese making competitions and a farm butcher demonstration .
The day will be officially opened by Professor of Tropical Regional Development Allan Dale from James Cook University .
