WHATS NEW? In October we are proud to take part in Black History Month 2018: the annual celebration of culture, identity and diversity in Wolverhampton and across the world. We are delighted to host two very special theatre shows. Two Gents present The Importance of Being Earnest (p.5). The company formed from the bare-bones, high-energy style of South African protest theatre, with just a few actors making an open-hearted connection with an audience without elaborate stage sets, costumes or props. Don’t miss their unique take on Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy of mistaken identities, love, high jinks and cucumber sandwiches. Photo: Two Gents in The Importance of Being Earnest Dr King: The Aftermath is written and directed by Wolverhampton’s Tonia Daley-Campbell (p5). This powerful production by Inspiring A New Generation focuses on the impact Dr Martin Luther King’s legacy has had on people across the world. Fifty years on they explore the question of how far have we really come? This affecting production features a talented community cast of actors and dancers from Wolverhampton and Birmingham. 2
