Kawameeh Middle School has adopted a new mission statement: “One tribe focused on success for all.” With the advent of this new mission and a new curriculum, 7th grade English Teachers began brainstorming a new concluding activity for the first unit, focusing on the topic of Generations. They felt that their decision to invite family, friends, and teachers from a variety of generations was the best way to further explore the essential question: What can one generation learn from another? Not only did this provide students with a first-hand experience of how learning could occur among generations, but it helped foster Kawameeh’s “One Tribe” initiative.
