Next Week in UMD

Wow…finals week already. We’re just trying to wrap things up for the semester in the Food Court. We will be open for regular hours of operation this week with the exception of Friday when our hours will be 10am-1pm. Starting next week our hours will be 11am-2pm. Thanks to all of our students and staff for all the hard work this semester. It is much appreciated. Quote of the week: Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits. Thomas Jefferson

Next week at the Food Zoo we will be featuring plenty of comfort food entrees at lunch and dinner to help endure both finals, and the cold weather. Beef stew, Mo’s famous mac ‘n cheese, Spanish braised beef, chicken fried steak…you get the idea. Then Friday we have the annual Holiday Cookie Cook off party celebrating a Willy Wonka theme, which of course means chocolate. We will have a visit from Santa, entertainment for the children and of course, tons of fun making the cookies. Come over and join us Friday starting at 1 !

Wow, it’s amazing how fast this semester went!! We are ready for finals week and thanks to Julie’s hard work our schedule for spring is almost full. We look forward to new and exciting things in the store spring semester. It’s going to be fun. For those we don’t see before break the Corner Store crew wishes you joyous holiday season with family and friends!

The bakery will be creating 2,000 international themed desserts for the holiday party on Thursday. Some of the items include churros, coconut macaroons, shortbread cookies, and profiteroles. We also will be making 500 lbs of cookie dough for the cookie cook off at the Food Zoo on Friday.

Next week for Biz Buzz and Recess we are getting ready to close down for winter break. Think Tank has Peppermint White Chocolate Mochas on special all week long! Stop by for a festive treat in the midst of Finals Week and the bitterly cold weather. We’re wishing all students good luck on their finals!

Next week we'll have the good truck outside the library for late night to accommodate all the studiers. We will also have basketball games Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Next week will start off slowly, but will end with a bang, as Catering will be kept busy with 3 basketball games and 6 Holiday parties toward the end of the week. Also, keep in mind that the President’s Holiday Party will be held on December 12th, which we will be catering at; so come and join us for this celebration!
