Things are heating up at Think Tank in preparation for Fall Semester, working to fill the shelves and just a few more student hours. If anyone has students looking for hours on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, send them this way.
Biz Buzz and Recess are also looking good. There will be a soft opening of Biz Buzz on Wednesday from 10-2. Stop by for some Panini and coffee samples or to meet Rebekah. There are still some holes in the schedule, so if you have any extra students, please let us know.
Cleaning, ordering, planning, scheduling... Ready, set, go! We will have our soft opening next week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Come on in and check it out. Le Peak will be open from 8:00am to 10:00am and the Corner Store will be open from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
We would like to give a big welcome back to our AY employees Nina Murch and Barb Maier. The Food Court has retooled a lot of small wares and has a more updated look to it. So come in and check us out. We are open from 11am to 2pm Monday through Friday next week.

We have lots of department orientations this week. Don’t forget the Welcome Back lunch sponsored by Human Resources in the Kirkwood Grove on Tuesday. Starting Thursday the final student orientation kicks off and goes through Friday. We have a Wedding Reception in the Canyon Club on Saturday to finish us out for the week. Then classes begin!
UMC will be opening up for a Soccer Tournament at Dornblaser Friday 8/23 @3:30 and Sunday 8/25 @10:30a. Friday 8/23 will also be the first UMC hiring day for our Concessions Team.
The Griz Food Truck will be at the International House on 8/20 serving the new international students. On 8/21 the Truck will be next to the UC for the International Students Orientation.
Besides getting geared up for the new semester start, we are preparing dozens and dozens of cookies and magic bars for the Faculty/Staff Welcome Back Feast at the River Bowl. We've also started our new student employees, and they are doing great so far. Excited to see you all on Tue for our own Welcome Back party!
Lots of news from the Food Zoo: Aug 18th is our last day of Summer Contract Meals. Starting Aug 19-24, we will have continuous dining from 7:30am to 7:30pm, for $5.50/meal. Meal Plans won't be starting until the following Sat, Aug 24 with the Yes/No day. Our students have started wearing the new shirts and they are looking sharp and excited about them. Last but not least, congratulations to Lynette for being selected as the new Assistant Manager for the Food Zoo! We are happy to have you!
