What You Need To Know Before Hiring Professional Movers in Brisbane What Do You Need To Know Before Hiring Professiona | Page 7
We all know that spring break is coming up soon (with finals still between us and the break), but we all
dread the moving in and out of dorms over break. Moving is a pain, and making sure you're prepared
will save you time, effort, and that frustrating last-minute run to buy things you need.
Having the following list of items will help make your next move as easy as possible
1. Boxes. Even though using boxes to move is a pretty obvious idea, we all have those moments when
we can forget the most basic of supplies. Moving can be stressful, whether it's in or out of a house or
dorm. If you get some boxes, you won't have to worry about so many trips to your car!
2. Tape. Since we need boxes, we also need tape. All kinds of tape can be helpful when moving. Box tape
is needed to put together and close the boxes, and scotch tape can be put on boxes and containers to
label. I'm sure you could even find a use for duct tape at some point because what can't duct tape do?
3. Scissors. It seems obvious to have scissors on moving day, but wouldn't it be awful to rip the tape for
all the boxes with your teeth? Scissors will not only increase the efficiency of moving, but alleviate any
problems that come from the tape you're using.
4. Sharpies. Sharpies are another must have when moving if you want to know which stuff is in which
box once you finally get to where you're going. It may feel like the best/fastest idea to throw your stuff
in some boxes and you'll figure it out when you get there, but there is definitely something to be said
about having to open up every single box to find something when it could be easily prevented! Think of
all the time and frustration you're saving your future self!
5. Garbage bags. Let's face it. Most of us have some accumulation of garbage after a while of living
somewhere, whether it's actually garbage or just things we don't use anymore! While you're packing up
your stuff, you could always do your good deed for the day and start a bag for Goodwill, in case there's
anything in there you just don't feel like bringing home with you! Garbage bags can also be conveniently
used for moving clothes!
6. Plastic baggies. Whether you end up needing them or not, it's always good to have some clear baggies
around just in case. They can be used to putting small parts or items in, such as screws and nails or
jewelry. It's never fun to just drop small things into a big box and hope you find them all later!
7. Speakers. We all know that any kind of chore can be made at least a little bit more fun by playing
some of your favorite music! Turn on some speakers or put in headphones, and try to have some fun.
Packing is much more enjoyable with some music.
8. Friends. How could we forget that our friends make the worst times more fun? Moving can be
stressful if you don't have help, so call up some friends! (WARNING: You may be asked to help them
move if they are moving as well.) More hands gets things done faster, so remember that when you need
to load up the car!
9. Packing list. A packing list can be really helpful for those of us that aren't living in a dorm, and have
more space to lose/forget our things in. Especially with roommates, remember to make a list and keep it
with you on moving day of any potential items that you may forget. This could include the shirt your
