Introduction
Nottinghamshire has a large and growing service and knowledge-based industry
which includes areas such as ICT, finance, bioscience, creative, engineering and
aerospace.

As well as being a shopper’s paradise, Nottingham city is also a recognised
Science City and is home to a thriving business and financial sector. It also has a
very large health sector.

Travel out of the city and you’ll find clusters of jobs around the county:
Bassetlaw has a large food and drink sector and opportunities in social care,
distribution, warehousing and logistics; Ashfield can offer high-tech engineering
roles as well as distribution and health; Newark and Sherwood has the largest
tourism sector outside the city, partly thanks to Robin Hood, but it also has food
and drink opportunities and a growing high tech, information and communication
sector as does Mansfield.
