Introduction
Hertfordshire has large and growing service, manufacturing and knowledgebased industries which includes areas such as ICT, finance, life sciences, creative,
aerospace and hi-tech engineering. With over 200 companies in the life sciences
sector, the number of new jobs created is growing and we have some big names in
pharmaceuticals based here.
We are home to world class, state of the art facilities for film and TV – many
global companies choose to shoot films here – and there’s a wide range of creative
jobs on offer.
Many big names in retail and business have based their head office operations
in Hertfordshire which means a large variety of jobs with companies such as Tesco,
EE, Amazon, David Lloyd Leisure and TKMaxx. We can also expect employment in
sport, leisure and tourism to grow.
Hertfordshire is one of the best-connected areas in the country and, thanks to
good road and rail links and two nearby airports, we have a strong and growing
distribution and logistics sector.
We can expect to see a breadth of exciting opportunities for the future across
a whole range of sectors and local employers are keen to attract young people to
