THE JOSHUA TREE BY THOMAS HOLTOM
There once was a man as strong as a tree As tall and tough as one , too No matter what happened , when storms came along He always knew what to do
He ' d lift up his head , and reach out his arms And as the gusts of wind blew His roots would hold him firm in the ground And he ' d wait for the sun to shine through
Sometimes the storm took leaves off his branches Because of the rain or the snow But that didn ' t matter , he ' d march through it all And never let anything show
The wind would push , and the wind would pull But the man always grew steady He inspired others to be on their guard To be prepared , to be ready
Because sometimes the storms were especially rough And the man never faltered his tone Because his roots would always remind him That he ' d never walk alone
Now the man is stronger and wiser And sometimes you ' ll hear him sing A song about hope , a song about dreams And what tomorrow will bring
