I stood up from the cold floor,

And continued running towards the bright white door ahead of me.

“Just a few more steps”, I counted to myself,

Three steps,

Two steps,

One step.

Finally I was there.

I slowly approached the door,

And reached for the knob,

It clicked.

I was greeted by a small white room,

With a single large window and a single chair,

And in that chair was a young girl,

A single word slipped through my mouth, “Sister”.

I couldn’t believe it,

She was there, staring out into space with her big brown eyes,

I ran as fast as I could towards her, but I stopped,

She was different.
