The soft green hues of the clarinets

With their wooden texture like a dense pine forest

Joined by the light blue tint of concert flutes

Aethereal, weightless, floating

The oboe and bassoon blend with deep purple

Bubbling up into the air

Bright yellow joins as the saxophones enter

Flashing like a neon sign on a dark city street

Red velvet french horn notes merge

Warming and darkening the texture

Euphoniums, Tubas, and Trombones mix

In a chorus of navy blue tones

Trumpets burning like a hearth

A deep burnt orange, like fire and pride

Uniting with the rest, creating a masterpiece

On this midnight black stage
