Melted Glaciers

Torri Ross

Watching you cry was heartbreaking

But your smile brings a presence of its own

The vibrant but seemingly transparent blue gave me chills

I could stare into those eyes forever

A colossal structure melted away by the warmth of my embrace

Rivers silently running by others as I stood at the bottom of the waterfall

Your wholesome laugh splashed, refreshing me

Soon winter made those blue lakes stiff

Your humor ceased to flow

Hushed to not only the rest of the world, but now me

As the sun rose and fell over the horizon, you still stood rigid

Refusing to accept my rays

But when my love was too warm to bear

Your cool touch came gushing down

Returning to those who needed you

On the Montana mountainside
