Grove

by Raquel Willert

Gate creaking in silence

Green between toes

Surrounding monuments

Stones standing tall

Chirps and buzz surround

Gray paths dot the green

Shelters of rock

Like forgotten castles

Lay empty

Green shoots high

Surrounding

Paths leading to

Houses of prayer

Where peaceful

Comfort is found

Breath is heard

Before anything

Thoughts slow to

A stop with no one

Complaining in sight

Because

Peace and

Tranquility

Are all that remain.
