The 1967 Detroit Riot was one of the most violent and destructive riots in U.S., in which the major cause for the event was the racial tension in neighborhoods.

The Detroit Police Department was viewed as a white occupying army because of the violence and brutality that police officers treated black people.

The lots of black people that were unemployed was another cause that the manifestants had to try to achieve their rights.

The Detroit Riot had a lot of consequences. Between them it is possible to find the among of deaths and the President Johnson created the Kerner Commission.
