Cross Country

Motivated, determined and team players- a fitting description of the 2016 Cross Country girls. The atmosphere at both practices and races was electric. Everyone pushed each other to reach their goals and when energy levels were low, encouraged each other to give a final burst of energy to run that last lap or to sprint towards the finish line. The numbers in cross country have increased, especially in the younger age groups. Two new coaches Miss Bing and Miss Jaipal joined the cross country coaching team. A few of the U13A team netball girls and our cross country captain, Michaela Edwards, attended Monday practices with the U8’ s / U9’ s. They were phenomenal in leading the training sessions and motivating the young girls.
Amy Jonathan continued to set a high standard as she dominated her age group, winning every race she ran since she was U8. We’ re incredibly proud of Kelsey Edwards, Hannah Pedersen, Gina
Langenhoven, Amy Jonathan, Jennifer Reed, Jamie Fisher and Michaela Edwards who were selected to compete at the Western Province trials.
We look forward to 2017 Cross Country race season and encourage all girls to try it out. Friendships, laughter, memories, physical and mental well-being are all made and achieved on the sports field.
