Farewell, Wynberg!

As Mother Teresa once said:
“ Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
“ Once upon a time, a little girl dreamed of becoming a teacher when she grew up. She finally qualified and taught at Tamboerskloof Primary school for many years. Then she moved to Wynberg Girls’ Junior school as a Grade 7 teacher, and found a brand new loving, caring, exciting family awaiting her!”
So, how does one leave a family that is very dear and special? I say – with great difficulty! I started teaching here in 1982 when Miss Lawton was principal. I took leave of absence until I returned full-time, in 1998, and I’ ve been here ever since.
One of the most“ fun” things I recall is being part of a staff troupe that performed the Can-Can at one of our variety shows!
I have loved being in the library for so long, getting to know each and every girl at our amazing school. My advice to you all, my special“ school” children, is to find your passion in life, follow that dream and always remember to be kind, humble and caring.
It is not going to be easy to bid farewell to this amazing family. I have learned and grown so much during my time here and feel extremely privileged to have had this experience. I have made many friends at Wynberg, I’ ve laughed, cried and had fun. I remember all the plays, musicals and concerts.
