The Art Room
This year, for the first time, the Grade 1 girls climbed
the stairs for lessons in the art room. They have made
rainbow fish, painted themselves jumping in puddles
and designed underpants for dinosaurs!
The grades 2-7 have created many wonderful artworks.
I am always thrilled with the results of their interpretations
of the topic presented and use of the large variety of
mediums and methods offered and taught to them.
The Art Exhibition showcases these artworks and gives
a good overview of the year of art at WGJS.
The art room was updated in March and it looks so
modern and compact, making it a far more practical
creative space.
Chichi Hove is our head art monitor and she has led her
team of girls namely Amy Jones, Isabella Volker, Esha
Parbhoo, Emily Solomon, Thabile Molebatsi, Zeenat
Ackerman, and Jordan Springveldt, to assist me in
many areas this year.
