This year in Physical Education we looked to build on the
renewed interest in various fun physical activities that started
to grow last year. We incorporated several cross-curricular
elements that combined teaching subjects with Physical
Education. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to use
their Mathematical measuring skills while completing sporting
activities as well as being able to create cultural dances with
the knowledge they acquired in PSW. We covered a wide
range of units this year from first aid to adventurous obstacles
which appealed to the various desires and needs of our
girls. By creating an environment where failure is regarded
as just the first step to success, our girls thrived in taking on
challenges and learning new skills.

One of the highlights of Life Orientation Sports Hour
this year has been the introduction of Zumba as
a form of aerobic dance. Smaller groups ensured
that our dancers received the attention they needed
to get fit and to produce quality dance moves. We
were delighted with the progress our learners made
this year. At the end of term three, our “Zumba
Zensations” treated the school to a showcase dance
at final assembly and they were excellent!
