serious cases, closed for some time. To inform decision-making around emergency preparedness, response and
future mitigation, WFP in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and
the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) conducted a nationwide vulnerability assessment in May 2016, which
was repeated towards the end of the year to allow analysis of the possible cumulative effect of adverse conditions
on household resilience. While targeted assistance was provided in selected sectors by government, United Nations
and NGO partners, no large scale food assistance was required.
