Standard Project Report 2016
In line with the Government's increasing ownership of social protection programmes, WFP continued its gradual
shift from direct implementation to strengthening knowledge and information management. By undertaking
advanced analysis of food security and nutrition, WFP worked towards building an evidence base to support and
advocate for effective social protection policies and programmes. WFP also worked on developing real-time
information platforms which would facilitate information sharing across sectors, such as online access to the
national poverty registration database by scholarship programme managers, the health equity fund, or disaster
response networks; online documentation of services delivered to those registered in the database; and an online
overview of who provides services to whom and where. With these initiatives, WFP will continue to inform national
decision-making on social protection and support the expansion and delivery of social protection services.
