In addition, the economic blockade from September 2015 to February 2016 at the Nepal-India border resulted in high transport costs and greatly inflated commodity prices. It also adversely affected household food security and income in the region. In response, WFP supported over 19,000 drought-affected people with food and nutrition support through an immediate response emergency operation (IR-EMOP) 200983 in Mugu and Jumla districts of the MFWR in mid-2016. The CP, PRROs and the emergency operations directly contribute to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No poverty, SDG 2: End hunger and SDG 4: Quality education, while the special operations contribute to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
