The Pallet Foundation Project Focus : PDS Multiple Languages

Written by Grace Johnson , Manager of Policy and Public Relations
The wood packaging industry comprises a growing , diverse workforce , and the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association ( NWPCA ) is committed to unifying and enhancing this global workforce . One example of this commitment is the addition of multiple languages to the Pallet Design Systemâ„¢ ( PDS ) program in 2018 .
By allowing packing designers to input data in their native language , PDS becomes more accessible , more valuable , and increases the efficiency of many multicultural workforces . The full user interface and design analyses are available in Dutch , English , French ,
German , Italian , Portuguese , Spanish , and Swedish . The PDS user can also design a pallet in one language and printout the complete analyses in another language . PDS is an analysis , design , and marketing tool available exclusively from NWPCA . Backed by over thirty years of research and development , PDS allows users to design the optimum pallet by scientifically determining the safe load carrying capacity , performance , and material quantity needed . The program enables wood pallet manufacturers to help their customers reduce costs and product damage and increase safety throughout the unit load handling system . ( Cont ' d on Page 20 )
