Fire Code Compliance: Safeguarding our Workers & our Communities

As the weather heats up around the country, it is a good time to remind everyone the importance of being proactive and preventative when it comes to fire. Unfortunately, some industry members know too well the risk of fire and the critical role of fire code compliance from their own experiences. With this in mind, education on compliance and mitigating risk are the primary goals of NWPCA’s updated Fire Code Compliance Manual for Outdoor Storage of Wood Pallets. After all, nothing is more important to the members of NWPCA than the safety of their employees, the people who live near their facilities, and first responders.

NWPCA originally developed the manual, a comprehensive voluntary resource guide, in collaboration with fire code experts in January 2018 as a resource on the new fire codes. As changes to fire code documents are processed every three years, the fire code compliance manual has recently been updated to outline the specific steps each facility will need to take to comply with the new fire codes, for both the NFPA and ICC code regulations.
