In the week ending February 27, 2026, the price of Southern Yellow Pine West Side 2x4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$427 mfbm. This was down $5, or 1%, from the previous week when it was $432.
That week’s price was down $6, or 1%, from one month ago when it was $433.
As well, for the end of February, SYP West 2x4 #3/Utility KD (RL) was US$400 mfbm, which was down $5, or 1%, from the previous week when it was $405 and was up $29, or 8%, from one month ago when it was $378.
As for SYP West 2x6 #3/Utility KD (RL), that price was US$335 mfbm, which was flat from the previous week and was up $25, or 8%, from one month ago when it was $306.
During February most lumber industry players were focussed on receiving wood already ordered. Sawmills reported muted demand for new sales, as traders were occupied with logistics and supply chain; getting solid wood products actually delivered.
As such, prices remained quite level. Customers who were hunting around for the best deals tried to push back on sellers with counter-offers. It seemed like a situation of who would blink first.
