Remembering Norm Normile
WPA Advocate & Industry Connector
The Western Pallet Association has lost one of its most passionate supporters, and the pallet industry has lost a true original. Norm Normile, founder of NW Norm and longtime equipment and consumables salesperson, passed away recently.
He was more than a vendor—he was a connector, a fierce advocate for the underdog, and someone whose passion for the pallet business never dimmed. For the past two decades, Norm crisscrossed the region, calling on yards big and small, selling saw blades, safety gear, machinery, and above all, selling the value of community through WPA membership.
"Norm fought for the small guy," recalled Gordy Herzog of Associated Products Shipping Solutions. "He introduced me to a lot of folks, even though I didn’t sell pallets in California. Norm helped me form friendships with smaller companies. When I needed something, they helped me. And when they needed something, I could help them. He believed deeply in networking and in giving everyone a voice."
